Boys’ basketball had its opening week games, with Blake storming out to a resounding 101-27 victory over Einstein. Northwest was also dominant in its 65-27 win over Northwood.

FOOTBALL 🏈

Aside from Quince Orchard’s victory over Wise this past weekend, Sherwood suffered a tough defeat in the 4A/3A state finals on Thursday. Mergenthaler of Baltimore took down the Warriors, 40-20.

BASKETBALL GIRLS 🏀

Whitman had an early two wins this season: a 77-44 win over Jackson Reed and staggering 84-14 victory over Blair on Dec. 5. Churchill also won big, taking down Damascus, 68-20.

WRESTLING 🤼

On Saturday, a number of programs made their season debuts. Magruder stormed out with a 79-0 win over Seneca Valley, while John F. Kennedy also won big over Watkins Mill, 84-0.
